Thread: White Flat Waxed Nylon
Wing: White bucktail, over which is tan bucktail,
over which is pearl flashabou, over which is rose
bucktail, over which is gray bucktail topped with a
few sprigs of peacock herl
Collar: White deerhair
Head: Spun or stacked white deerhair, trimmed flat
on the sides and shaped like a fish head
Eyes: Yellow with black pupils. Applied with Goop.
This design, by Lou Tabory, causes the fly to bob as it is retrieved, owing to the buoyant head of the fly. The head is sculpted deer hair and its use is a skill that some find intoxicating. This makes it a great imitation of a crippled bait fish.
